Bliżej
So that your parents are not alone, and you have peace of mind — even from afar.
Current stage: Bliżej is the fourth development program of the GoodWay Foundation. We are preparing a pilot. You can join the waiting list and find information for families on the program website blizej.org.
What Bliżej is
Bliżej is a GoodWay Foundation program for older people, their families and carers. We help make sure that an older person is not left alone — that someone regularly asks how they are, helps with the phone, comes for a walk. And that the family, who often live far away or abroad, can have peace of mind that everything is fine with mum or dad. We combine simple technology with human kindness: a short call from an AI assistant, conversations with vetted students and free knowledge for carers.
How we help
Daily phone call
An AI assistant calls the senior at an agreed time on an ordinary phone, talks for a few minutes about the day and plans, remembers previous conversations and reminds them how to protect themselves from scammers. The family receives a short update on how things are.
Meetings with a student
Vetted, trained students talk with seniors by video or phone, read together, and teach them how to use a phone and recognize scams.
Home visits
In the next stage, students will visit seniors: company, a walk, shopping from a list. We will start in the cities from which the most families sign up.
Support for carers
A free guide to benefits, the “Path of Meaning” course inspired by the thought of Viktor Frankl, guides and support groups.
Family panel
One place where the family can see how things are and set the times of the calls.
Our principles
- To begin with, help is free, and knowledge and guides — always.
- The assistant always says that it is AI.
- We are not a medical or emergency service — in an emergency, call 112.
- Students do not sell anything and do not know the senior’s passwords.
- We do not sell data. A senior can opt out with a single sentence.
Why the program was created
More and more older people live alone, and their children work far from home. Carers often do not know what support they are entitled to, and seniors are a frequent target of scammers. We believe that regular, kind contact can change someone’s day — and that it is worth testing this rigorously.
The program and the study
We are developing Bliżej together with a study: we are testing whether regular contact reduces the loneliness of older people and gives peace of mind to their loved ones. We will publish the results — even if they are not what we expect.

Bliżej and Compass
Seniors are a frequent target of scammers. That is why Bliżej works with the Foundation’s Compass program: we teach people to recognize fake calls and messages.
Compass →How we fund the program
To begin with, help in the Bliżej program is free, and knowledge and guides — always. The program is supported by donations and grants, and families can choose additional services; all income is used exclusively for the Foundation’s statutory goals.
